Burglars broke into the £10-million Holland Park house of TV presenter Simon Cowell and stole cash and jewelry estimated to be worth thousands of pounds. Cowell, partner Lauren Silverman and their baby ric were asleep in the house when the burglary happened.

The thieves took all contents of his safe after they found the key to his vault, reports The Telegraph. A burglar alarm that went off at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday woke up a bodyguard of the 56-year-old celebrity.

The couple were badly shaken by the burglary, according to a family friend who adds that Cowell could cope with his loss so long as his family is safe. However, the TV reality star search judge would review security because of the incident.

But he wants his family to still live a normal life as much as possible because he does not want his home to be so heavily guarded like a military fort. However, they must feel secure in their home.

The house of Cowell, has hi-tech alarm systems. Cowell, who is estimated to be worth £300 million, has a 24-hour bodyguard. Despite these measures, in a way, he aided burglars by leaving the keys to his vault in a place that's easy to find and showing to TV crew the interior of his house in 2013 as part of a promotion to look for a YouTube star.

But since the show must go on despite problems at home, Cowell attended on Saturday rehearsals for the X-Factor semi-finals hours after the incident.

So far, no arrests have been made, but an investigation is ongoing, said Scotland Yard, reports The Mirror.

In 2012, Leanne Zaloumis, Cowell's stalker, used a brick to break a window in the house and then she hid on a shelf inside the celebrity's wardrobe. She was arrested, given a 12-month community order, spent 102 days in custody until she was released with an electronic tag.
