While the Avengers could not heft Thor's hammer, Loki managed to wield the Mjolnir in a deleted scene in "Thor: The Dark World."

The clip featured Loki's coronation in Asgard, with the Warriors three bowing before him and Asgard's people cheering him. Then, Loki wielded his brother's hammer, effortlessly. Seeing Loki raise the Mjolnir is astonishing for many fans; however, it turned out that it was only an illusion in Loki's mind while he was in his prison cell.

While the sequence is entertaining, it is hard to think why it was removed from the final cut of "Thor: The Dark World," according to Cinema Blend. Coming from a broader narrative, the sequence would have spanned more time and stretch the story's progression.

In addition, although the events in the clip would have taken up time, it gives a glimpse of the film's conclusion, in which Loki sat on Asgard's throne, impersonating his father Odin. In fact, the clip could be used in "Thor: Ragnarok" instead, as per Comic Book Resources.

The clip is part of Marvel's Phase 2 Collection, which also includes more than two and a half hours of extra clips like deleted scenes, a full set of Marvel One Shots, a Phase 3 featurette, and many more. The collection also has Blu-ray versions of "Thor: The Dark World," "Iron Man 3," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and "Ant-Man."

Meanwhile, Loki and Thor will be next seen in Taika Waititi's "Thor: Ragnarok," which is set to feature attacks on Asgard, epic battles, and inevitable deaths. Previous reports also teased that Thor will be joined by The Hulk and another character, the Valkyrie, will be introduced in the film.

At the moment, exact details on the film's plot, additional characters, and cast are yet to be revealed. Waititi's "Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 3, 2017.
