"Legends of Tomorrow" will feature both heroes and villains from "Arrow" and "The Flash" series working together under the leadership of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to travel back in time to stop the immortal villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) in changing the past and save the future from being conquered by him.

Klemmer explained the importance of time travel within the show as several characters will likely change something in the past for their own personal gain rather than saving the world. Klemmer added that such changes could have grave consequences and these character's could die or get lost in time at some point, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

Aside from the possible character deaths, a new batch of characters are rumored to appear in the spin-off. There have been recent reports that the showrunners might not go for a season 2 of "Legends of Tomorrow" due to the huge budget they have spent for the first season with props and special effects.

However, writer Eric Francisco suggested that in order for "Legends of Tomorrow" to continue on its season 2 plans, they must invest of characters that relatively unknown of less-known in the DC comics, Inverse reported.

These characters include Huntress (Jessica De Gouw), Deathstroke (Manu Bennet), John Diggle (David Ramsey), Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke), Katana (Rila Fukushima), Booster Gold, Karate Kid and John Constantine (Matt Ryan).

Constantine was already rumored for possible "Legends of Tomorrow" season and tease a much bigger role within "Arrow" season 4. Both Huntress and Deathstroke were present in season 1 and 2, and could replace both Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) as the villains in the group. Vixen had her own animated series in CW Seeds making her debut within the Arrowverse, while Booster Gold and Karate Kid are from the future and since the show is about time travel their might be a chance that they could appear in the show. John Diggle in the show could be a mediator or voice of reason within the group and Katana could be the assassin of the group and will likely give chance for her shine in the small screen as compared to her movie version in "Suicide Squad".

"Legends of Tomorrow" will premiere on Jan. 21, 2016 on the CW Network.
