Huawei presented over 100 of its products at the 2015 International CES. The company also highlighted the beauty of its latest premium device, the Honor 6 Plus.

Considered one of China's premier high-tech brands, Huawei showcased its flagship smartphones, wearable devices and tablets at the said event. It also offered its mobile access devices, home access devices, and other innovations such as smart home devices, OTT, as well as vehicle-mounted modules.

The company also promised to be at the forefront of the Hilink era. Soon, it would be delivering fully integrated mobile Internet solutions to its worldwide consumers. This is in line with the company's commitment to make sure its consumers always have the latest technology that could create amazingly connected experiences.

"2014 saw our greatest achievements to date. Our strategy of focusing on premium mid- to high-end products has borne fruit, with year-on-year smartphone sales increasing by 30 percent to over $11.8 billion," announced Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group.

The company also intends to further emphasize its Honor 6 Plus in the market and compete with Xiaomi more head on. Xiaomi has been in the limelight lately because of its low-budget phones and word-of-mouth marketing, and Huawei plans to take some of the attention away from the rival company's devices with the Honor 6 Plus.

Currently, the Honor 6 Plus is being marketed through Huawei's self-run online marketplace and China's second largest online retailer, the jd.com. The strategy suited Xiaomi well and Huawei is set to copy this strategy.

While the competition between Huawei and Xiaomi is good for the consumers, who would be able to see quality for low-budget phones improve and prices go down further, experts warned against price wars. Price wars may affect the margins for all local phone manufacturers, they said.
