According to District Attorney Karen Heggen, Brendon will not spend his life inside the jail provided that he completes drug and alcohol counseling and keeps himself away from trouble for one year. She added that based upon their review of the facts and circumstances of the case, and after speaking with the victim, they believed justice had been served.

Brendon reportedly left Origins Behavioral Healthcare in West Palm Beach to enter the plea and went back right away to the recovery center, according to defense attorney Peter Coseo. He added that everyone agreed that it had been a fair disposition, including Brendon, who is now working to get his life back.

Brendon has had a very windy year. According to People, the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star was in detention four times, was rehabilitated due to substance abuse, alcoholism, and depression in June, and was treated in another recovery center for depression in October.

With regard to his entry in the rehab, Brendon told Dr, Phil Mcgaw in "The Dr. Phil Show" that maybe he was just done and he was probably ready to be happy now.
