New rumors claimed that Microsoft Surface Phone release will be in October as the smartphone is reportedly in the works.

According to Windows Central, unnamed sources said that the company is working on an all-new flagship phone led by Panos Panay.

Panay led the team of engineers that worked on Surface and Surface Book. Now, the company is working on a smartphone that will work side-by-side with the Microsoft's tablet and laptop. The software company is still hammering the details of the smartphone such as the design, hardware, and features. The report added that everything will be finalized in mid-2016.

Microsoft is branding the Surface Phone as "the most powerful phone ever". It is expected that the Surface Phone will be patterned with the Surface tablet-laptop. Surface devices were known for their power. Thus, the smartphone could be as powerful as the tablet-laptop devices.

Make no mistake, but apparently, the new Surface Phone is not the rumored Intel-powered Windows 10 phone bound to be launched early next year. Previous rumors claimed that Nokia-assembled smartphone will integrate the Intel Skylake chipsets. Although it is not the first handset to be powered by Intel chipsets, it is still promising thinking how Surface devices utilized Intel chipsets.

While the rumored Microsoft Surface specs and features are scarce, some of the specifications that emerged include 5.5 inch screen display, 4GB of RAM.

According to The REM, the smartphone is also dubbed as "Juggernaut Alpha" and is expected to arrive in the market in March next year alongside the company's HoloLens developers' kit.

Nothing is certain at the moment. Until now, Microsoft has not revealed the official details of the rumored smartphone.
