Not only that Cloud Strife is a surprise character add-on packed with the upcoming Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC, the entry of the legendary Final Fantasy VII warrior is a landmark event. Cloud will open the door for wild card character and stage expansions and one source could be the Super Mario RPG, a new report said.
While Cloud Strife becoming a Smasher soon is exciting enough but according to Gamnesia, Nintendo's decision to include the FF7 mercenary to its smashing brawl game signifies clearly that the game maker is opening its door for unexpected Super Smash expansions in the future. Nintendo collaborating with the likes of Square Enix indicates that the company is game for anything.
In terms of taking Super Smash a bit further and its current partnership with Cloud Strife's creator, Nintendo now has "the perfect chance to bring Super Mario RPG content back into the fold," Gamnesia reported.
So for the next Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC update, fans can expect the Mario RPG brand to gain a foothold in the game title and one obvious character nominee would be Geno, who by far is the most prominent Mario RPG figure, Gamnesia said.
The report noted that Geno at the moment requires more work to become a Super Smash playable character but Nintendo has to make sure that the Mario RPG hero will eventually join the brawl. As Gamnesia stressed, "it would be criminal not to include him as a Mii Fighter costume in the next batch of DLC."
And while Nintendo is at it, the game creator would be wise to consider other rich Super Mario RPG contributions to the Super Smash DLC. Geno could bring with him stages like the Forest Maze and Smithy's Factory, the Gamnesia report said.
Perhaps, something similar to this will be discussed via the December Nintendo Direct broadcast that is also rumored to spill the beans on the upcoming Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC including the Cloud Strife release date details.
