The Los Angeles Superior Court approved on Friday the divorce of celebrity couple Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith. The approval came after Banderas agreed to pay Griffith $65,000 monthly as spousal support.

The couple, who have been married for almost 20 years, announced their divorce in June 2014. It took the court 18 months to grant the divorce which was a mutual decision.

In a statement, the two said, "We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together," quotes People.

Under the terms of the divorce, Griffith would keep the Aspen, Colorado, house, while Banderas would hold on to the house in Central Park West in Manhattan, New York. In June, they sold two adjoined properties in Hancock Park for $16 million and divided the proceeds of the sale.

In 2014, the two signed a postnuptial agreement that they will divide all money on entertainment projects they took part in from January through May 2014. Earnings from projects prior to their marriage, which was from May 1998 through December 2003, are retained individually.

Unfortunately for Griffith, Banderas made a lot of money from "Mask of Zorro," "Desperado" and "Spy Kids," which he gets to keep for himself, reports TMZ.

The jewelry, clothes and some furniture go to 59-year-old Griffith, while 55-year-old Banderas keeps the motorcycles, some electronics and music equipment. She retains ownership of six cars, including a Porsche, while he keeps only two, one of which is also a Porsche.

The expenses of daughter Stella would be shouldered by Banderas until she reaches 19 in September as well as college or graduate school fees until September 2021.

If Griffith, who was previously twice married to "Miami Vice" star Don Johnson, remarries, she would forfeit the alimony which amounts to a whopping $780,000 a year.
