As the world waits for the next instalment of "A Song Of Fire And Ice," author George R.R. Martin has come up with a unique way to keep his fans busy by releasing a prequel novella "A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms."

The book is a collection of three novellas, "The Hedge Of Knight," "The Sworn Sword," and "The Mystery Knight." The storyline is set in a century and shows Westeros in peace in contrast to the wild and turbulent version shown in "Game Of Thrones." The book is seemingly introduced for both those familiar with Westeros and those who want a place to start Martin's epic tale.

Each novellas feature Ser Duncan The Tall, a hedge knight commonly known as Dunk who is inculcated with all the knightly virtues, Albuquerque Journal reported. Another lead character of the book is Egg who is a shaven-headed bit of know-it-all lad.

However, the big reveal is that Egg is really Aegon Targaryen, great-grandfather of Daenerys in the books, and will one day sit on the Iron Throne as Aegon V.

All the three novellas feature the adventures of Dunk and Egg as they explore Seven Kingdoms in search of hearth and coin. In the third story, the duo even blunders into a plot involving the theft of a dragon's egg, Yorkshire Post reported.

Another major link between "A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms" and HBO's hit series "Game Of Thrones" is the character of Bloodraven who is none other than Three-Eyed Raven,  the old, decrepit man in north of the Wall who is revealed to be responsible for Bran's visions in the TV series.

A notable feature of the book is the artwork done by Gary Gianni, which adds a ton of humor and vividness to the story and captures the definitive version of the book's main characters.
