The roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest Android build has started for Moto X Pure Edition (2015). The Android 6.0 update status for other Motorola smartphones have surfaced.

David Schuster, the senior director of product management for Motorola has announced that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has started in the United States. The Android 6.0 upgrade is now available through carriers like Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular for the owner of Moto X Pure Edition (2015), Phone Arena reported.

There is no information as to when unlocked edition of Moto X Pure Edition (2015) will be upgraded to Android 6.0. The Motorola executive has further stated that soak test of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is being carried out in Brazil for two handsets, Motorola Moto X Play and Moto X Force. In India too, Motorola is working on Android 6.0 soak test for Moto X Play handset.

On Dec. 8, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update page on Motorola's official blog did not include the Moto E 4G (2015) until now. However, it has now enlisted the Moto E 4G (2015) indicating the Motorola is currently working on Android 6.0 update for the entry level smartphone.

The Moto E 4G (2015) and the 2014 editions of Moto X, Moto G, Moto G 4G in China will not be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Also, the official blog does not mention whether users of these handsets in the United States will be receiving the latest Android build.

Owners of Moto E 4G (2015) and Moto X (2014) in Latin America, Canada, Europe and Asia will be receiving the latest Android upgrade. Some of the other handsets that are slated to receive Android M update in the near future are Moto X Style, Moto G (2015), Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Nexus 6, Droid Turbo 2 and Moto Maxx 2.
