The December Nintendo Direct is confirmed to broadcast on the 15th of the month, further firing up the rumors that the Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC release date, headlined by the arrival of Cloud Strife, will immediately follow. And more downloadable characters and stages will be made available to Smashers in the aftermath of the event, reports said.
Since Cloud Strife has been announced to migrate from Final Fantasy VII to the Super Smash platform, speculations continue to flow in on what the popular character will bring to the brawling game. The minimum expectation is for the FF7 hero to replicate the things that endeared him to fans like wielding his gigantic Buster Sword. But Cloud becoming a Smasher points to a flourishing future growth by Nintendo for SSB4.
One that will likely excites gamers, a report said, is the prospect of continuing expansion for the game title that will surprise Super Smash followers. The choice of Cloud Strife was essentially out of the box, indicating that more of the same will happen in the future. It is not remote, Gamnesia said, that Geno of Super Mario RPG and stages from the title will be considered as solid expansions for Super Smash.
Along the same line, Shovel Knight remains a Smash candidate despite the statement for the character creator that the Blue Knight is incompatible with the platform. And there will be more interesting add-ons if the trend continues, Popular Science said.
Among those persistently mentioned are the bird/bear creature Banjo-Kazooie, Shantae and Isaac from the Golden Sun. Together with Shovel Knight, these characters command solid following within the Nintendo universe but Cloud Strife's SSB4 entry tells of one glaring possibility - that more outside characters are likely to join in the fun.
So the likes of Goku from DragonBall Z and Rayman from Ubisoft can be considered as safe bets to become Super Smash fighters, Popular Science said on its report.
The Nintendo Direct session on December 15 will not only reveal the Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC release date details but also snippets of the company's future. It could be that the event may be the last for the game title but according to Engadget, "Nintendo's future lies in its Super Smash Bros. updates," indicating of more welcome Super Smash bombshells to come.
