The new Live Photo feature of the iOS is largely stuck on the iPhone 6S and has relatively slow integration with third-party apps or services. However, this notion will change as microblogging platform and social networking website Tumblr recently announced that it will support Live Photo, as well as other iPhone 6S features.

The iOS version of the Tumblr app will allow iPhone 6S users to integrate Live Photos into their posts. The feature is easy to use and works as though users are adding any other photo, according to 9to5Mac. Once users encounter such post in their feed, they will see a Live Photo icon right on the corner of the app, a sign letting users know that the post can animate.

Aside from Live Photo, Tumblr will also support the 3D Touch feature on its iOS app. Owners of iPhone 6S can use the 3D Touch feature to activate hidden sound and video.

For users who own an older iPhone model but still want to view Live Photos, they can do this by simply pressing and holding on the image.

The new features rolled out by Tumblr were exclusive for the iOS platform. Tumblr has yet to confirm whether it plans to release the feature on the Android and Web versions of its app. For now, Live Photos will be rendered as a still image on Android and Web users.

According to The Verge, the limitation might be imposed by Apple. There is also a possibility that Tumblr has yet to finish integrating the features into other devices.
