Milwaukee Bucks center Miles Plumlee is reportedly on the trading block this midseason and one of the projected destinations for the four-year veteran is the Miami Heat.

Bleacher Report noted that even though the 27-year-old former Duke standout's "performance and playing time has dropped the past two seasons", he still commands interest from several teams around the league in need of a quality backup big man.

Plumlee, the elder brother of fellow NBA player Mason of the Brooklyn Nets, started 79 out of the 80 games he played for the Phoenix Suns during his sophomore year in 2013-2014. Last year, he started 28 of 54 for Phoenix before being traded to the Bucks during last season's February deadline, where he played 19 games without any starts.

In the current season, Plumlee has not made any starts again and played only 15 of Milwaukee's 25 games so far. The addition of star center Greg Monroe is said to be the reason why the 2012 first-round pick is being slowly squeezed out of head coach Jason Kidd's rotation.

Fansided's Patrick Morgan suggested five teams that should trade for Plumlee and one of them is Miami.

While the Heat already seemingly has a reliable option at the slot in the person of Hassan Whiteside, Morgan said that "the former journeyman was relatively quiet in the playoffs, and isn't exactly a gamechanger on a night-to-night basis".

Backup bigs Chris Anderson and Amar'e Stoudemire are both aging and on the decline as well and so Plumlee can provide "a solid foundation to a team still brimming with talented shooters".

Miami's rotation up front had not been the same since LeBron James came back to Ohio while main big Chris Bosh is not the type that posts up to get his points. Plumlee would be a great complement to Whiteside as the two youngsters share playing time at center.
