It is noted that these parks were opened in support to the joint bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics by Beijing and Zhangjiakou City, China.org.cn added.

For tourists to have a full view of the Summer Palace's winter scenery, the city opened up part of Kunming Lake for a skating rink. According to the record, the Summer Palace received 50,000 visits during the three-day New Year holiday.

Supervision and management has been enhanced to guarantee the tourists' safety. The management departments of these scenic spots also monitored the flow of tourists while making emergency plans in advance, the China.org.cn revealed.

A revenue amounting to 22.56 million yuan ($3.64 million) was generated through folklore tours. During the three-day holiday, 316,000 visits were made through this activity.
