With J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" doing well at the box office, Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn issued voiced his thoughts and gratitude.

In a statement from Walt Disney, Horn said that the studio and the crew's sole focus had been creating a film that delivered that one-of-a-kind "Star Wars" experience and director Abrams, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and the Lucasfilm team had outdone themselves.

Horn also expressed his gratitude to the fans around the world who had not only come out in Force to make the film such an exciting and astrononical debut, but who had treated the film as their own and had helped preseve the experience for their fellow fans by not spoiling it.

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" has topped other films and had gotten several all-time box office benchmarks, according to Cinema Blend. It is the biggest Thrusday preview gross with $57 million, biggest Friday and single-day gross with $120.5 million, first film ever to post a single day over $100 million and fastest film to reach $100 million and $200 million.

After its release on Dec. 18, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" now stands as the biggest film debut, with three tme its previous record of $84.6 million. It also has the biggest IMAX record on Thursday night preview at $5.7 million, single-day Friday with $14 million, and opening weekend with $30.1 million. In fact, the film has the highest theater average for a wide release with $57,568.

With the performance of Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" at the box office, it just proved to be Disney's best deal of the century.

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi." The film stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Oscar Isaac, and Domhnall Gleeson, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is now showing in theaters.
