T-Mobile reported a 47 percent market gain for 2015 and this massive growth catapulted that group's collective average. In 2014, the group recorded a 23 percent drop and 11 percent gain.

T-Mobile's market strategy of cutting down plan price, offering credits to rivals' customers and introduction of features like free music and video streaming has attracted at least one million customers into the fold.

T-Mobile chief executive officer John Legere launched the Uncarrier program in 2013, a move that skyrocketed that company's growth over the past years. Under the Uncarrier program, T-Mobile ditched the traditional two-year contracts, provided phone financing and launched a highly competitive price benchmark.

The company's effort has so far paid off. Early this year, T-Mobile overtook Sprint as the third largest wireless carrier in the US. Market experts trace the company's unprecedented growth to increased data allotment for customers, as well as features like Wi-Fi calling.

MoffettNathanson market analysts Craig Moffett told Bloomberg, "The wireless price wars of 2014 didn't intensify, and arguable even abated a little but as T-Mobile's strategy shifted from competing on price to competing on the quality of its network."

According to BGR, despite the success of T-Mobile, the company is still haunted will some controversy like the alleged Net Neutrality violation of its Binge On and Music Freedom programs.
