With the much awaited “NCIS” Season 13 premiere just a month away, the show runner and the cast of the series tease on what the show has in store for its fans.
It seems the upcoming season will finally give the bachelor of “NCIS” Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) what he has been searching for in the entire series.
“Tony has been waiting for something and I think for too long so I think this is the year we figure that out,” Weatherly told TV Fanatic.
Weatherly added that there will be a fundamental shift in the show and the new season will see the whole “NCIS” team facing the ramifications of agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) being shot.
The all-new installment in the series will start exactly after the season 12 finale events and will show the fan favorite agent Gibbs going through a lot during his recovery including some conflicts with his co-workers as he will also be dealing with the psychological effects of his shooting.
Fans will more likely get to see a major change in Gibbs’ character as show runner Gary Glasberg has confirmed that the season will start at odds between Tony as Gibbs, as Tony will be leading the team during the latter’s recovery.
“There’s issues that have to get worked out between team members, very specifically between Tony and Gibbs,” Gary Glasberg told TVGuide.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) will be the one holding the team together in the next season. Dietzen also said that the season will see relationship developing between Palmer and DiNozzo, but will be super-tested by the end of the season.
