The culprit of the fall was A-Mei's footwear: high heels towering eight inches.

Amid a shocked audience, A-Mei responded to the fall by laughing uncontrollably, showing the crowd of concerned onlookers that she was not seriously hurt.

Chiang immediately helped A-Mei get back up as soon as she saw she had fallen.

As soon as A-Mei got up, she immediately made fun of herself.

"I have sung more than 500 shows, and have not fallen once," she said. "Actually, I arranged it. I have to steal the show at the final concert."

A-Mei also laughed at the idea of her fall making headlines in gossip websites online. She said she was sure that the stage tumble video, along with several still photos, would be circulated over the Internet.

"Could you all please circulate nicer photos?" A-Mei said, making light of the incident.

The incident happened during one of Chiang's 25 farewell concerts. The 53-year-old Taiwanese pop diva announced on Jan. 2 that she was ending her career as a professional singer with 16 farewell concerts, a number that increased to 25 when upset fans complained about not being able to get tickets despite waiting several hours.
