"Basketball Wives" has been renewed for a fifth season by VH1. The news was announced even before the show airs its season 4 finale, expected to premiere on Oct. 4.

The renewal did not come as a surprise given that the reality series has made VH1 the no. 1 cable network on its 9 p.m. time slot, based on the 18-34 demographic, according to Deadline. The outlet also held that the recent premiere episodes posted triple digit gains (+157 percent) in comparison to year ago levels.

Meanwhile, the drama between Jackie Christie and Malaysia Pargo will reportedly continue in the coming episodes. According to the International Business Times, Christie claims that she is done being friends with Pargo. Her statement was made shortly after Pargo threw her out of her bedding line launch party.

Some of the girls tried to convince Christie and Pargo to put their differences aside. Shauni O'Neal even suggested that they take a trip to Puerto Rico, suggesting that this will be the perfect opportunity to patch things up.

During the trip, the girls all surprisingly got along fine. They were even seen having fun together, a first for this season. Things however quickly turned for the worse when Christie, along with Angel Brinks, showed up unannounced at dinner. Pargo, Brandi Maxiell and Mehgan James were obviously unhappy with the surprise guests.

The outlet recounted that Christie and Maxiell got into a huge argument when the former made a joke about Pargo's divorce. It did not help that James and Brinks also had a fight which almost ruined the entire trip.
