Atletico Madrid came out with a 2-0 away win against Celta Vigo thanks to second-half goals scored by Antoine Griezmann and Yannick Carrasco, keeping the club at the top of the table as the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga season hit its halfway mark this weekend, as reported by China Daily.

The game was played in difficult conditions with heavy rainfall in the north-west of Spain. However, this did not seem to faze Atletico, who gave a stellar performance.

Atletico included Augusto Fernandez, who was recently signed from Celta, in its starting roster.

Griezmann scored the first goal, his 10th goal of the season, four minutes into the second half. With Celta's attacking being largely ineffective, Carrasco scored the second goal with 11 minutes remaining, sealing the win.
