Roy Doliguez vs Riku Shibuya

Former WBO world champion Roy "The Dominator" Doliguez of the Philippines failed in his bid for a breakthrough victory inside the ONE Championship cage at ONE: Dynasty of Champions which took place Saturday, January 23 at the Changsha Stadium in Changsha, China.

Riku Shibuya of Tokyo, Japan dominated Doliguez of the Philippines over three rounds to win by unanimous decision.

Shibuya completely outclassed Doliguez both on the feet and on the ground, where he did the most work. Although Doliguez tagged Shibuya with some crisp body punches, the Japanese fighter took him down at will and did all his damage from top position, earning the unanimous decision verdict.

This was Doliguez's second bout after he dropped a decision to ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in his debut for the promotion.

With the setback, Doliguez has now lost two in a row and will look to get back to the drawing board. Doliguez, a former world boxing champion, transitioned well into mixed martial arts competing in his native Philippines.

With a step up in competition at ONE Championship however, Doliguez has failed to showcase his ability to put strikes together due to his opponents' advanced ground games.
