“Finding Carter” season 3 may be cancelled by MTV, but its show creator Emily Silver remains hopeful that Netflix will eventually pick it up for another season.

When the cancellation was confirmed, fans of "Finding Carter" took to Twitter to persuade Netflix into giving "Finding Carter" a second chance. A few also tagged Hulu, adding that MTV made a hug mistake of cancelling the series.

Fans have also started a petition online to bring back "Finding Carter" for season 3. To date, it had more than 3,600 supporters just a couple of hundreds short to its 4,000 goal.

"For too long, MTV has cancelled our favorite shows, just to create these new ones that we don't care about. It needs to stop," Bernadette Rentschler wrote.

When asked if there was a possibility that Netflix or Hulu will pick up "Finding Carter," showrunner Emily Silver admitted that fans should not get their hopes up. She, however, added that they will be willing to take the opportunity if given the chance.

In January, Zac Pullam, who played Grant in the series, confirmed that MTV has pulled the plug on the show. This definitely came as a surprise given that season 2 ended with a cliffhanger. It is only safe to assume that the writers thought that they will be coming back for a third season.

In an interview with TV Insider, Alex Saxon (Max) thought that it would be interesting to see his character stay in jail. He explained that Max will finally start to embrace the dark stuff.

"I'd like to think part of why Max is so empathetic to everybody around him and conscious of taking care of people and not hurting anybody is because he knows the evil, the darkness, that's out there. Now he can actually really embrace that stuff, as opposed to always just playing in the light," he explained.
