Lucifer Morningstar gets a call from his friend who is an upcoming quarterback. He wants Lucifer's help after he discovers a body floating in his swimming pool.
"When a 22-year-old future superstar quarterback wakes up to find a dead girl floating in his swimming pool, he turns to his friend, Lucifer, for help. Lucifer enlists Chloe to investigate the case, which leads to the world of big money sports and people who will literally kill to be number one in the all-new "The Would-Be Prince of Darkness" episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Feb. 8, 2016," the synopsis of the upcoming instalment reads.
In the promo video of "Lucifer" Season 1, episode 3, Linda tells Lucifer that people come to Los Angeles in order to reinvent themselves and this is the reason he is in city. However, he tells her that he is already perfect and why would he mess with that.

Meanwhile, Tom Ellis talked to New York Post about the show.
"What's happening to Lucifer, he doesn't want his title anymore. LA seems like the perfect place to rid himself of that. It's perfect in many ways. The city is full of things he knows. The Bacchanalian lifestyle. People come there to reinvent themselves," the actor said when asked about how Lucifer landed in Los Angeles.
He also talked about his character seducing therapist, Linda.
"He does therapy in exchange for sex. That is one of the relationships I adore. Playing the devil in therapy was a big selling point for me," Ellis responded.
