"Battlefield" franchise developer DICE stated last week that it would reveal something big during the week.
DICE's senior video and media director/editor, Randy Evans, added to the excitement via Twitter.
Such a statement from Evans immediately agitated "Battlefield" fans, considering that since the announcement of the game, its huge fanbase has been eager to get hands on any new detail surfacing about the new game. Fans are certain that the latest installment in the franchise will come eventually.
It turned out that the company's big reveal was not "Battlefield 5," but a trailer for "Mirror's Edge Catalyst," another one of DICE's famous titles,Attack of the Fanboy reported,.
However, not all is lost since "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is also a great game. Fans of this game have as well been expecting the next installment since the original one released way back in 2008. The game coming to DICE, therefore, gives fans an assurance that all is well.
With regard to the released trailer, it appears as if DICE created a wonderful game that is a worth sequel to the 2008 original, according to Gaming Bolt. While "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is a great game, fans are a bit disillusioned that it is simply not "Battlefield 5."
Reportedly, "Battlefield 5" is a definitive game that put DICE into the top of the game developers' pyramid. Out of 13 games and 23 expansion packs created so far, "Battlefield" franchise is one of the most lucrative and reputable first person shooters ever.
A major question now is whether DICE's Evans was really referring to "Mirror's Edge Catalyst's" story trailer or fans should continue expecting some information about the upcoming "Battlefield 5."
"Battlefield 5" has already attracted many rumors to the name, among them being that the game might release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Furthermore, it is rumored that the game would include VR support for some extremely immersive gameplay.
