Kaci Fennell

When Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell, 22, was announced as Miss Universe 2014 fourth runner-up, the audience expecting her to win the crown booed in protest and shortly after, #MissJamaicaShouldHaveWon trended on Twitter.

Throughout the competition, Fennell had gained a large following with her pixie haircut similar to that of Halle Berry, which is different from the traditional long pageant waves.

During the final question and answer portion, the final five candidates, Miss USA, Miss Colombia, Miss Netherlands, Miss Ukraine and Miss Jamaica were asked about the greatest contribution of their country to the world.

While her rivals made an attempt to give eloquent answers, Fennell mentioned the late reggae music legend Bob Marley and the world's fastest short-distance runner Usain Bolt with apparent honesty, as Daily Mail put it.

In response, Twitter user with the handle CaptainTouchback wrote, "Short hair + Bob Marley answer = 4th runner up. #MissJamaica."

While Miss Jamaica finished fifth, Miss Netherlands Yasmin Verheijen, 20, Miss Ukraine Diana Harkusha, 20, and Miss USA Nia Sanchez, 24, finished fourth, third and second respectively.

The 63rd Miss Universe title was given to Miss Colombia Paulina Vega, 22, a business administration student from Barranquilla, Colombia. She is also the granddaughter of legendary tenor Gastón Vega.

Miss Argentina Valentina Ferrer, Miss Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa, Miss Spain Desiree Cordero Ferrer, Miss Venezuela Migbelis Castellanos and Miss Australia Tegan Martin also made it to Top 10.

Miss Indonesia Elvira Devinamira won Best In National Costume while Miss Puerto Rico Gabriel Berrios was Miss Photogenic and Miss Nigeria Queen Celestine was Miss Congeniality.
