Miss Universe 2014 Results: Miss Jamaica, Miss Philippines Fail To Win The Crown

While they were considered the strongest candidates of Miss Universe 2014, Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell and Miss Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa failed to win the crown and it appears that Miss Universe 2014 is pro-Latina.

Newly crowned Miss Universe 2014 is Miss Colombia Paulina Vega, 22, 5'9." It appears that she is the third woman from Barranquilla, Colombia to become internationally famous following former "The Voice" coach Shakira and "Modern Family" actress Sofia Vergara, who is also the girlfriend of "Magic Mike XXL" actor Joe Manganiello.

If Vega happens to be dethroned, Miss Universe 2014 first runner-up will take over. She is Miss USA Nia Sanchez, 24, 5'8," from Las Vegas. She was born and raised in Sacramento until she was seven and she is half-Hispanic.

While it has never happened yet, in case Sanchez gets stripped of her crown after taking over Vega, Miss Universe  2014 second runner-up will take over. She is Miss Ukraine Diana Harkusha, 20, 5'9," from Kharkiv. She speaks Ukranian, Russian and English.

Miss Universe 2014 third runner-up is Miss Netherlands Yasmin Verheijen, 20, 5'11," from Amsterdam. She speaks Dutch, German and English.

While she failed to win the crown, Fennell, 22, 5'9,"is Miss Universe 2014 fourth runner-up. At seven, she was inspired by Jamaica's first Miss Universe semi-finalist Sandra Foster. At 19, she started her modelling career.

Miss Philippines, on the other hand, managed to make it to the Top 10.

The Miss Universe 2014 results were decided by the telecast judging panel composed of Desean Jackson, William Levy, Manny Pacquiao, Rob Dyrdek, Giancarlo Cruz Michael Stanton, Emilio Estefan, Lisa Vanderpump, Louise Roe, Kristin Cavallari, and Nina Garcia.
