New Miss Universe 2014 Crown Is Worth $300,000, Has 33 Bohemian Crystals, 10.37 Karat Diamonds

Miss Universe 2014 candidates recently unveiled the new diamond encrusted crown of the beauty pageant.  The 88 candidates of the beauty tilt from all over the world were excited as they unveiled the crown designed by the pageant's sponsor Diamond International Corporation (DIC), IBTimes reported.

The new crown marked the start of a decade-long relationship between the Miss Universe Organization and DIC. The crown maker has closed the agreement to make crowns for both Miss Universe and Miss Teen USA title holders.

The latest Miss Teen USA crown was created by DIC and inspired by the beautiful New York City skyline, which is the home of the Miss Universe Organization and its title holders, according to Coconuts Manila.

"Craftsmen spent over 3,000 hours to create this beautiful and timeless crown with a very unique infrastructure, inspired by design elements of various royal crowns throughout history," explained by Miss Universe organizers.

The new crown symbolizes elegance, beauty, and poise of its title holders, the confidence, stability, and power of women around the globe, described the organizers. The beautifully crafted crown weighs about 411 grams and a value of around $300,000 (£200,140).

With 33 translucent Bohemian crystals beautifully shaped, polished, and metalized at the back for an enhanced light reflection, the new Miss Universe crown has five light blue topaz stones at 18.6 karats each that symbolizes loyalty and strength and 198 dark blue sapphire stones that denotes wisdom and faith which weigh 29.7 karats altogether.

The crown's base has an 18 karat white gold strip while the entire crown is encrusted with 311 small polished diamonds weighing 10.37 karats.

The pageant organizers used the highest quality Italian leather case to keep the gorgeous sparkling crown.
