Preorders of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones have started. Details on release date, pricing, availablity and carrier support have surfaced.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge preorders began on Feb. 23 and it will continue until March 18. Customers who will preorder the S7 or S7 Edge will be eligible to receive a Samsung Gear VR headwear for free along with six free games. These freebies will be also through several carriers, Phone Arena reported.
Both smartphones will officially release in the United States as well as across the world on March 11. Potential buyers are allowed to get hands-on experience on both smartphones at Samsung Experience Stores and Best Buy outlets. Other U.S. carriers that will be selling these smartphones include Sam's Club, Target, Walmart and Car Toys.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones will be available in the U.S. in color variants like Black Onyx and Gold Platinum. The S7 Edge will also arrive in Silver Titanium color.
Samsung will be only selling the 32 GB variant of both smartphones in the U.S. which indicates the country won't be getting 64GB storage model. All the carriers in the U.S. will be showcasing the S7 and S7 Edge smartphones at their stores from Feb. 26.
With AT&T Next 24 plan, the 32GB models of S7 and S7 will be available with respective monthly installments of $23.17 and $26.50 for 30 months. Both smartphones will be available with retail pricing of $699 and $799. For preordering customers, AT&T is also offering DIRECT TV support that will let users to watch live TV on the S7 and S7 Edge smartphones.
Verizon has not announced any pricing plan for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones; however, it will be providing two accessory bundles for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge buyers. The Memory Bundle that includes any case of up to $40, any screen guard of up to $40 and a $40 worth 32 GB microSD card for $80, CNET reported. The Charging Bundle is worth $100 and includes items like $70 Fast Charging (wireless) Stand, a $35 car charger with fast charging feature and a $80 fast charging power bank.
Moreover, buyers of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be able to take advantage of 2 GB of data each month through the Verizon Plan XL.
T-Mobile is selling the 32GB Galaxy S7 with 23 monthly payments of $27.92 and a 24th payment of $27.83. The 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge is available with 23 monthly installments of $32.50 and a last payment of $32.49. Team Magenta will be selling both smartphones with a full retail price of $669 and $779. T-Mobile is offering a one-year subscription of Netflix for free for the buyers of S7 and S7 Edge.
Sprint is offering a 50 percent discount on second model for the buyers of 32 Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge for a limited period. The Galaxy Forever program will its customers purchase new Galaxy smartphones each year. It requires users to make at least 12 monthly payments on the lease plan and trade the existing Galaxy smartphone to get a newer smartphone.
With zero down payment, the 32GB Galaxy S7 is available with monthly installments of $27.09 for 24 months. The second smartphone will require users to pay $13.54 monthly installments for 24 months. The 32 Galaxy S7 Edge is also available with zero down payment along with monthly installments of $31.24 for 24 months. The second unit will require buyers to make monthly payments of $15. for 24 months.
US Cellular has a zero down payment plan for S7 and S7 Edge users. The 32GB Galaxy S7 buyers are required to make monthly payments of $28 for a period of 24 months. The 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge customers are to make monthly payments of $32.50 for 24 months. The full retail price of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are $672 and $780 with US Cellular. Buyers of both smartphones will qualify to buy 6GB data plan for only $40.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones will be available for with respective pricing of $199 and $299 along with a two-year contract through Verizon and Sprint. The retailer giant is also giving away a free microSD card with 64GB storage apart from the freebies mentioned above.
