Masahiro Sakurai, the creator and producer of "Super Smash Bros," has uncovered that he once contemplated on "Super Mario RPG's" Geno as a potential character in the "Super Smash Bros" franchise.
According to Source Gaming, a trustworthy source who usually translates Japanese video game updates interpreted the April 2016 issue of the Japanese "Nintendo Dream" magazine which held the original information. According to the magazine, Sakurai had disclosed he initially planned to include Geno as a playable character in the most recent chapters of "Super Smash Bros." The legendary game designer pointed out that Geno is among the most admired video game characters, and he would rightly fit into "Super Smash Bros."
Although the character was not featured in either of the"Super Smash Bros" video games, Sakurai appended an optional downloadable Mii Fighter gear intended to arrive on the scenes of "Super Smash Bros." This was a section of the "Wave 5" DLC content which included an outfit for Mii Gunners and a Geno hat.
Geno is a robust character who uses arm guns to assault his enemies. He made his first appearance in 1996 SNES title "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" and since then has had a mass following among Nintendo fans.
In the same interview with the Japanese magazine, Sakurai also explained why the game's DLCs are at the closing stages. As reports validate, "Super Smash Bros" for both 3DS and Wii U recently brought its final round of DLC meaning that there will be no more addition of characters. According to Sakurai, adding more characters will only lessen gamers' surprises and end up eating the contents. Any additional character would not bring on much hype, and hence, it is the best time to draw the line, Nintendo Life reported.
Meanwhile, reliable hearsays indicate that "Super Smash Bro" 5 will become the successor of the current installation of the franchise. According to speculations, it will be the initial "Super Smash Bros" installation that will allow game designers to work as a team. Those prospected to participate are designer and producer Sakurai, Tekken creator Katsuhiro Harada and Platinum game designer Hideki Kamiya.
What is more, "Super Smash Bros 5" is prospected to include other directors of gaming franchises such as "Pokémon," "The Legend of Zelda," "Metroid" and "Super Mario Bros" who will be making content from their franchises available for the new game.
