| Feb 25, 2016 09:52 PM EST

Borussia Dortmund winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan celebrates his goal against Hannover with teammates Ilkay Gundogan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

German domestic league top contenders Borussia Dortmund (16-3-3, 51 points) will take on bottom-two relegation squad TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (3-10-9, 18 points) in a 2015-2016 Bundesliga season match at the Signal Iduna Park on Feb. 28th, Sunday.

Dortmund is currently on a four-game unbeaten run after their defeat against Cologne last December as they are 15 points ahead of closest pursuer and third-running team Hertha Berlin. Die Borussen is still eight points away from tying with defending champions and current league leaders Bayern Munich in the overall standings.

BVB nipped Hannover 96 in their last Bundesliga game, 1-0, also at their home field of Signal Iduna Park on Feb. 13th, as reported by BBC Sport.

Armenian winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided the winning goal for Thomas Tuchel's side at the 57th minute via a right-footed shot from 20 yards out off an assist from striker and vice-captain Marco Reus.

The Borussians dominated ball possession more than 70 percent of the time on the pitch and had seven shots on target as compared to Hannover's one, still they only managed to come away with a one-point win.

The single goal was enough, though, to secure three points in the league table to possibly overtake Bayern and keep their title hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Hoffenheim survived a high-scoring match against Mainz, 3-2, at their home stadium of Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena last Saturday to snap their five-game winless skid, as per ESPN.

German striker Mark Uth scored a double at the 68th and 76th minutes to lead Die Kraichgauer to the come-from-behind win as Mainz forward opened scoring at the 11th minute to put the visitors up by one point early in the game.

Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri leveled immediately leveled the count two minutes later before Uth's two-goal haul in the second half.

Die Nullfünfer midfielder Jairo netted one at the 78th to keep the visitors' hopes alive, but both teams were held goalless from that time as Julian Nagelsmann's side pulled off the victory.

The predicted result is a 3-0 romp by Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Burki; Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer; Gundogan, Ginter, Kagawa; Mkhitaryan, Reus, Castro

Hoffenheim starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Baumann; Kaderabek, Schar, Sule, Ochs; Amiri, Strobl, Rudy; Uth, Vargas, Volland
