Two-time jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan is expecting a hulking Saul Canelo Alvarez when they clash on May 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Khan, who surprised the boxing world by pitting himself against the lineal middleweight champion, believes he will be facing a monster of an opponent in Alvarez.

"I want to show the world how good I am. I'm up against a monster, in a way, someone who is a great fighter and a dangerous fighter," Khan said in the recent press conference for the fight in London via Sky Sports.

Despite facing a significant disadvantage in size and height, Khan is confident that he has the tools to outclass Alvarez in their middleweight showdown.

"People have asked me why I want to move up to middleweight to fight this great fighter, this great puncher, and I've said I believe I can win this fight. I believe I can take his power, take his speed, and that I have the moves to win this fight."

"I've been let down so many times in terms of having the biggest fights - there are a lot of big names I wanted to fight and this is my time to shine."

Khan had been haunting for a big money fights with both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao the past two years, but was turned down several times. Now with Mayweather and Pacquiao no longer the main attraction in the sport, Khan took a gamble and pushed for a fight against a full-fledged middleweight fighter in Alvarez, who just destroyed future Hall of Famer Miguel Cotto in their title fight last November.
