The most anticipated BBC's TV series "Sherlock" season 4 will hit the small screens, yet again, reprising the iconic characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective books. Media tabloids and fans are already digging details to find scoops about the upcoming new season of "Sherlock." It is being reported that producers have already started with the filming of the new season, and Moriarty is part of it.

"Sherlock" TV series co-creators, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, shared this news on Twitter, marking the shoot has begun. The film production was earlier rumored to be starting from spring of 2016, but was later pushed due to lead actors heavy schedule. According to CarterMatt, the shooting of "Sherlock" season 4 has commenced at the Pinewood Studios Wales near Cardiff, the same location was previously been used for shooting movies like "Assassin's Creed" and the highly successful movie franchise, "Harry Potter."

Reportedly, the attraction of "Sherlock" season 4 will be the inclusion of Holmes' arch nemesis character James Moriarty, played by actor Andrew Scott. Creators Moffat and Gatiss revealed in Post-Mortem episode of "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride" that return of Moriarty in the upcoming season will totally depend on the structure of the plotline. Moffat left fans wondering by saying Moriarty may or may not reprise for "Sherlock" season 4.

"Sherlock" TV series' upcoming season will also see Mary Watson solving crimes, murders, and mysteries with Sherlock and Dr. Watson. Creators Moffat and Gatiss also revealed that there will be substantial changes in the treatment and style of the lead characters. It is possible that more revelation about Sherlock Holmes' family will be made.

Apparently, co-creators are planning to make "Sherlock" season 4 darker than the previous ones. It is rumored that a third Holmes brother will debut this season. "The Night Manager" actor Tom Hiddleston is rumored to be playing the role of new Holmes brother. Moffat and Gatiss have not officially commented on the same, but an emotional "Sherlock" season 4 is confirmed.

The lead roles will be reprised by Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson. Cumberbatch had revealed in the past that more seasons of "Sherlock," after season 4, will be decided on the basis of his and Freeman's availability only. "Sherlock" season 4 is expected to air by Jan. 2017 on PBC network in the U.S.A.
