Sony has confirmed that the next PlayStation 4 update will add Remote Play for PC and Mac

Sony has confirmed that the next PlayStation 4 update will add Remote Play for PC and Mac.

The tech giant announced this on March 1, explaining that the new feature will enable gamers to play their PS4 games on PC, PC Magazine reported. The company had previously substantiated in November 2015 that it was working on the feature, and now it seemingly plans to roll it out in the upcoming update.

Apart from the forthcoming update, Sony started rolling out a beta for the 3.5 update code-named "Musashi" on March 2, as reported by the PlayStation blog, although the latter does not include Remote Play.

Here are the key features highlighted on the update:

                                I.            Friend online notification.

This feature will enable a gamer to know moments when their fellow friends go online. The update includes an option where a gamer can get notified when their friends sign on the network.

                              II.            Appear offline.

When a gamer wishes to play a game offline or even watch a movie without getting bothered by friends, the new update will make it easier to go incognito mode. Sony has added the option of appearing offline so gaming fans can designate to appear offline and log-in online from their profiles and Quick Menus when they like.

                            III.            User Scheduled Event.

Sony has added a capability to schedule a forthcoming gameplay session with friends in the system. When the event kicks off, users who have registered for the event are automatically included in a party so a gamer can begin playing right away.

                            IV.            Play Together.

This feature will allow all members of a specific party to see what the other person is playing so that a gamer can easily join their friends' game or even start a game together.

The other new key system feature besides the Remote Play is Dailymotion. With the update, a gamer will be capable of streaming live directly from Dailymotion on PS4. Sony will also support archiving live broadcasts just like it does in other streaming services.

Sony encourages gamers on beta to download the software update and give their feedback. Meanwhile, the official date of the next PlayStation 4 update roll out remains unknown.
