"Game of Thrones" season 6 promotion and teasers have everyone baffled over what is going to happen next. The most discussed and beloved character of Jon Snow is popularly believed to be returning. However, Carice Van Houten, who plays the character of Red Priestess Melisandre, has confirmed that she is not going to resurrect Jon Snow.

"Game of Thrones" season 5 finale episode has seen Jon Snow being stabbed multiple times by his Night Watch's brothers. It is speculated since then that his return for season 6 will be through resurrection process done by Melisandre, as she has started to believe that Jon Snow is the saviour from the darkness. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Houten teased that Jon Snow's resurrection theory is false. Although, she agreed that Melisandre's religion gives her such powers but she is not the one bringing back Jon Snow.

Houten further added that Melisandre will be seen as a lost cause after Stannis Baratheon's failure against the Boltons in the battle of Winterfell. It is also rumoured that she will be seen doubting her faith as Red Priestess and might opt for revenge with the Boltons.

Kit Harington's Jon Snow has been spotted many times on the sets of Game of Thrones Season 6 but everyone from the team is still maintaining that he is dead for sure. Although, Harington in his latest interview with Time Out revealed that he will be returning but only as a corpse.

"Game of Thrones" marketing team fuelled more rumours on fate of Jon Snow after their first poster for Season 6. Reportedly, Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell, also hinted that Jon Snow is not going to be dead for long.

However, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the character of Jamie Lannister, made sure to frame his words when questioned about Jon Snow's return. Waldau revealed in the past that Jon Snow is also a human and after being stabbed 50 times, it is hard for him to be alive.

"Game of Thrones Season 6" will premiere on HBO on April 24, 2016. The first episode of Season 6 is believed to be garnering the highest viewership any television series has ever witnessed.
