The "Rush Hour" movie franchise has been given a pilot order by CBS for a television series.

CBS has also ordered TV pilots for other comedy series, including "Super Clyde" and "Joe Time," Inside TV reported.

The new "Rush Hour" series will be based on the 1998 to 2007 box office movie hits, which featured Chris Tucker as an African-American cop coupled with an uptight police officer from Hong Kong played by Jackie Chan.

There has been no official announcements on who will play the police duo in the potential series, but Brett Ratner, who directed the "Rush Hour" movies, will be back in the directing chair for the series. Blake McCormick and Bill Lawrence will be executive-producing and writing the one-hour action comedy series.

In addition, CBS also ordered another pilot for "Super Clyde," which is about a fast-food worker who suddenly realizes a calling. A pilot order was initially ordered in 2013, but did not take off. Tyler Labine, Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry were the stars for the 2013 rendition, according to Variety.

Moreover, the TV network is also ordering a pilot for "Joe Time," another Warner Bros. TV production besides "Rush Hour." The plot involves a family man who is depressed because everyone else is enjoying life more than he currently does.

The first "Rush Hour" movie grossed nearly $245 million worldwide and spawned a 2001 sequel "Rush Hour 2,"which generated more gross revenue of around $347 million. The third installment, "Rush Hour 3," was launched six years later and grossed at about $258 million.
