Former Miami Heat teammates Dwyane Wade (L) and LeBron James.

Recent rumors have emerged that Miami Heat faithful Dwyane Wade is planning to reunite with his championship buddy LeBron James in Cleveland as the 12-time NBA All-Star shooting guard is set to become a free agent in the summer.

The 34-year-old three-time NBA champion signed a one-year, $20 million deal with the Heat last summer, which will make him an unrestricted free agent this July. Speculations that Miami is no longer willing to pay Wade that kind of money moving forward has sparked rumors that he may leave the Heat to seek a team who can and teaming up with James again, this time in Cleveland, is not an impossible scenario.

Fansided noted that while Wade "is still a perennial Eastern Conference All-Star and easily one of the 50 best players to play in the NBA, his biggest annual salary to date came in the back-end of his prime as a way to make up for the financial sacrifices he made during the Big Three era in Miami".

If Wade finally decides to put his and his family's future over team loyalty, then there is a high probability that he will ditch the stingy Heat this coming free-agency season.

Wade would certainly boost the probability of the Cavaliers to win their first NBA title by a lot, not only because of his familiarity and good chemistry with team leader James but because he is an overall great player that makes his teammates around him get better on and off the court.

With the latest rumors that Kyrie Irving is seeking for a way out of Cleveland, then the Cavs may just trade him to the Heat in exchange for Wade to make things less complicated, although that is not likely to happen.

Fox Sports reported that James had recently visited his old pal Wade in South Beach to work out together, which is said to be an indication that the two may be starting to discuss a potential reunion in the near future to continue with their championship collection.

With both players set to become unrestricted free agents this summer, the timing of their meeting really "sends an interesting signal", the report says.
