Surprise team Leicester City FC (17-3-9, 60 points) will look to hold firm of their current league leadership and continue their quest to capture the 2015-2016 Premier League season title as they face bottom-three relegation squad Newcastle United FC (6-16-6, 24 points) at the King Power Stadium on Monday, March 14th.

Leicester seems to be recently having the nerves of realizing that they could be English champions this year as they recorded only their third loss of the season against contending squad Arsenal on Feb. 14th and then was held to a 2-2 draw by lowly club West Brom two matchdays later.

They finally returned to winning form last Saturday at the Vicarage Road after turning back newly-promoted side Watford FC, 1-0, to extend their lead over second-running team Tottenham Hotspur to five points in the overall standings, as per BBC Sport.

Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez provided the lone goal of the match for Claudio Ranieri's side at the 56th minute as the Hornets managed to hold their own against this season's powerhouse squad in the whole first half of play.

Watford striker Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney tried to salvage a draw in the second half, but the Foxes defense held on until the final whistle to grab the three points in the league table.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United was embarrassed by another newly-promoted club, losing to AFC Bournemouth 1-3, at their own home field of St. James' Park last Saturday, as reported by SkySports.

The Magpies woes started when defender Steven Taylor had an own goal at the 28th minute of the match after the Englishman attempted to block a shot from Norwegian midfielder Joshua King.

King doubled the lead in the second half, at the 70th minute, before teammate Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez put his team on the board 10 minutes later, making it 2-1.

Bournemouth defender Charlie Daniels sealed the game with a goal in stoppage time to complete the visitors' three-goal haul.

It was the third consecutive loss for the Geordies and their fifth in their last six outings, which led to the sacking of head coach Steve McClaren. McClaren was replaced by former Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez on Thursday.

The predicted result is an easy 3-1 win for Leicester City over Newcastle United.

Leicester City starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs; Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kanté, Albrighton; Vardy, Okazaki

Newcastle United starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Elliot; Janmaat, Taylor, Lascelles, Dummett; Shelvey, Colback; Sissoko, Perez, Wijnaldum; Riviere
