"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev is reportedly unhappy with the reports that The CW series has been renewed for season 8.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the 27-year-old actress has been anticipating the cancellation of the show after season 7.

Dobrev also thought that "The Vampire Diaries" will be axed because she is no longer part of the series.

In fact, the actress' exit after season 6 resulted in a huge drop in the show's ratings.

As of late, only one episode from season 7 has received reasonable ratings from fans.

Meanwhile, the publication also claimed that Dobrev decided to leave "The Vampire Diaries" so she could destroy her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder's career.

"Quitting their hit show seemed the perfect revenge to try and ruin his career which would also impact Nikki. No doubt Nina Dobrev was jealous that Ian Somerhalder never put a ring on her finger... But now it looks like Ian and Nikki will have the last laugh and not Nina," the publication noted.

Meanwhile, according to TV Line, despite rumors that the show will be cancelled, The CW just announced that "The Vampire Diaries" will continue on at least for another season.

According to the publication, one of the downsides about "The Vampire Diaries" is the fact that they are no longer faring well in terms of ratings.

"The onetime smash has fallen on hard times. Despite creative resurgence, ratings are down sans Nina Dobrev and, beginning in January, it's moving to the Cancellation Waiting Room known as Friday nights," the publication noted last year.

On the upside, "It's hard to imagine The CW not giving the series at least a shortened final season."

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is currently in a three-week hiatus.

When the show returns next month, fans will find out more details about Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore), and how they ended up together once again.

Details as to how Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) became a couple will also be revealed.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will return to The CW with episode 16 on Apr. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
