Apple iPhone 7 rumors: Leaked next iPhone images suggest of larger rear camera, redesigned back plate

Apple's next iPhone will be the 4-inch iPhone SE but more of the attention is on the rumored iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and months before the twin devices' purported release date in the third quarter of 2016 leaked details have become bountiful. The latest indicates that the 2016 iPhones will sport a redesigned casing and a huge camera bump.

The images provided by French blog site NowhereElse.fr and picked up by 9to5Mac specifically presented what the 4.7-inch iPhone would be, or at least the rear portion of the upcoming Apple flagship smartphone. Apparently, it has become prettier from its immediate predecessor and the camera system has been treated with a generous upgrade.

The images and mockups offered by the blog report revealed a build and design that still reflect that of the iPhone 6S elements - with rounded corners and slim profile as most noticeable revelations. And gone are the antenna bands that break the upper and lower rear portions of the iPhone 6S, pushed instead on the outer edges of the next iPhone.

And with the iPhone 7 rear plate boasting of a cleaner finish, 9to5Mac observed on its report that the camera lens is placed closer to the top-left corner, perhaps due to a significant change. Compared to the 2015 version, the iPhone 7 shooter is larger that should point to significantly enhanced shooting prowess.

However, no camera details were included with the leaked details shared by Steve Hemmerstoffer, who 9to5Mac noted has been a credible source of advanced iPhone and iPad information in the past.

Another key revelation carried by the leaked images is the absence of another lens that should support the swirling rumors that Apple is equipping the next iPhone with a dual-camera system to make it closer with DSLR systems.

Yet the omission can be explained by the note that the subject of the leaked pics is the smaller iPhone 7. According to 9to5Mac, if indeed the sequel to the iPhone 6S will unbox with a dual-camera it is more likely that the feature will be exclusive to the larger iPhone 7 Plus.

Speculations are rife that Apple plans to make its phablet-size iPhone more distinct by giving it a more powerful shooter. It was suggested too that the move will include renaming the device to iPhone Pro that highlights advanced and professional features.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are scheduled for a release date that likely will happen September 2016 or around six months after the iPhone SE debut. The upcoming flagships will be powered by the tandem of A10 chip and iOS 10.
