Meizu Pro 6 will be released between the third and fourth quarter of 2016.

Many smartphones are lined up for a release during the second half of 2016, and they are said to come with high-end RAM configurations on board. Besides Vivo's Xplay 5 Elite, latest rumors indicate that the Xiaomi Mi 5 rival, Meizu Pro 6, will pack a whole 6GB of RAM.

The upcoming Meizu Pro 6 will reportedly be released in two variants, according to Gizmo China. The 6GB RAM variant will release with an internal storage capacity of 128 GB. Another variant is said to sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of in-built storage space.

With regard to specifications, reports show that the Meizu Pro 6 will come with 1080p display. The smartphone will also sport Samsung's latest Exynox 8890 chipset under the hood, which is also seen in some variants of the Galaxy S7 series. The device will as well run on Android-based Flyme 6.0 operating system.

Meizu's vice president and Flyme chief architect Yang Yan recently uploaded a screenshot of the display revealing the Apple iPhone 6s-like 3D Touch/Force touch feature. Other devices from OEMs with 3D touch-like capability include ZTE Axon Mini, Gionee S8, and Huawei Mate S. Most significantly, the Meizu Pro 6 will reportedly support Hi-Fi 3.0 and fast charging ability.

There are rumors that the upcoming Pro 6 smartphone will cost $520. Apart from this flagship, the Chinese tech giant will unveiled two more devices - Meizu MX6 and a mid-range handset under a new series. It is important to note that Meizu scrapped the Pro 5 Mini handset in February.

The company plans to release Meizu Pro 6 anytime between the third and fourth quarter of the year.

On the other hand, Xiaomi ditched the curved screen display technology for its flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone, and there are high chances that the same will come to the Mi Note 2 phablet. Like the Vivo Xplay5 Elite, the upcoming Mi Note 2 will sport Samsung's curved AMOLED display.

Chinese vendors including Huawei and Xiaomi have ordered for curved screen samples from Samsung Display, according to a report from ZDNet. The tech giants are likely to add the technology in their upcoming smartphones expected to launch this year.
