Rafael Nadal vs Alexander Zverev
This is the first Nadal plays Zverev, who is considered one of the future stars in tennis. In short, this kid isn't going to be a pushover for Nadal.
The 18-year old German scored back-to-back wins against top-30 opponents, beating No. 23 seed Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 and then French veteran Giles Simon, 6-2, 6-2 in just one hour and seven minutes.
Rafael Nadal, who successfully exacted his first round Australian Open loss to Fernando Verdasco by beating his compatriot in two sets 6,0 7-6 (11-9), even acknowledge that Zverev has an enormous potential in him.
"He's a clear possible future no. 1. He's an amazing player. He has all the shots. It's going to be a very tough match tomorrow for me, and I have to be ready to fight, to suffer, and to try to play aggressive. That's what I'm going to try," Nadal said during the press conference via Tennis World USA.
Serena Williams vs. Simona Halep
Meanwhile, two of the finest women's netter in the world are set to collide in the fourth round. Williams, who is playing her first tournament since losing to Angelique Kerber in the final of Australian Open, will be gunning for his seventh victory in nine confrontations with the Romanian Thursday night.
Despite several weeks of absence in the tour, the 34-year old Williams hasn't missed a beat as she dominated her first three opponents without dropping a set. Same goes for Halep, who is once again playing at a high level after struggling to recover from injuries.
