"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev is rumored to guest star on multiple episodes of "The Originals."

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, it's possible that Dobrev is no longer interested to return to "The Vampire Diaries" because she doesn't want fans to think that she keeps changing her mind.

After season 6, Dobrev announced her exit from the hit The CW series. According to her, she's ready to pursue greater things.

Since then, she has already starred in two movies, but that's just about it for the actress - at least for now.

Meanwhile, the publication claimed that Dobrev is more likely to join "The Originals" because her character Elena Gilbert can also fit well into the show's storylines.

There are also some rumors that "The Vampire Diaries" will be axed after season 8, and "The Originals" could go on and on beyond season 4 so it's a much better option for her to stick to the latter.

The publication is also saying that the creators of "The Originals" could bring Dobrev in as a doppelganger of Elena.

"The Originals showrunners could bring in Nina Dobrev as a doppelganger rather than Elena Gilbert if they want to leave Elena in her six decade snooze over TVD. Tatia Petrova would be a great choice since both Klaus and Elijah had the hots for her way back a millennia ago," the publication noted.

In other news, it's also possible that Dobrev will not guest-star on "The Originals," but may return to the finale episode of "The Vampire Diaries."

Last month, executive producer Julie Plec said that she will accept whatever time Dobrev could allot to return to at least one episode.

Plec also said that Dobrev's storylines as Elena could still go a long way, and her reuniting with Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will definitely be good for the show.

The only question now is whether or not Dobrev will really be open to the idea of returning to The CW series, and working with her former co-stars all over again.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 currently airs every Friday at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
