3 Reasons Why You Should Skip iPad Air 3 (9.7 Inch iPad Pro) Release

| Mar 18, 2016 12:25 AM EDT

Apple will reportedly release a 9.7 inch iPad Pro release, instead of iPad Air 3.

iPad Air 3 release is reportedly coming soon at Apple's Mar. 21 launch event.

iPad Air 3 is also dubbed as the 9.7 inch version of iPad Pro. There is no confirmation from Apple regarding the official release date of the tablet.

Below are the top three reasons why you should think twice before buying the upcoming iPad Air 3, if it will really come out later this month.

Similar specs with iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro

Based on rumors, iPad Air 3 will pack familiar specs and features that consumers have seen in the current iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro. The iPad Air 3 is dubbed as the smaller iPad Pro and will boast a 9.7 inch screen display, which is the screen size of iPad Air 2.

The new features that will be included in the rumored iPad Air 3 are Smart Connector that will enable users to connect a keyboard accessory. Moreover, the tablet will reportedly pack a 3D Touch technology that was seen in last year's iPhone. With these minimal changes, some users are mulling whether an upgrade is worthy.

Tablets are not as popular

Reports claim that tablet sales are not as stellar as before. There is a slump on overall tablets sales as people are not updating their devices in a yearly basis. Low sales can be attributed to many things such as its portability. Tablets are harder to bring, especially if you do not have a purse or a bag to bring it. The iPad Pro, which packs a 12-inch screen panel, is cumbersome for some people.

iPad Air 3 could be more expensive

Although there is still no official pricing from Apple, it is hard to tell whether the iPad Air 3 will follow the same pricing of the current Air tablet. Since iPad Air 3 is marketed as a smaller iPad Pro, there is a chance that it could be cheaper than the full-fledged iPad Pro, but could cost more than the current iPad Air 2.

However, Apple is yet to make its official announcement soon.
