Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner meticulously planned and deliberately released the former's sex tape in 2007 to get famous, a new book has claimed.
The allegation has been raised by Ian Halperin in his new book titled "Kardashian Dynasty." The book contains several shocking claims, including the one that the reality TV star had even signed a contract with Vivid Entertainment to leak the sex tape she made with her then-lover Ray J in 2003.
Halperin has also claimed in the book that Jenner was actively involved in engineering the scenes in the infamous sex tape and was also responsible for its release. In his book, which is due for release next month, the author has declared that Vivid Entertainment had distributed Kardashian's sex tape only after getting clear indication from the family, and that too, after agreeing on a price, Page Six reported.
Halperin has authored several shocking celeb-skewering books, including "Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson." He is also the co-author of "Love and Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain" and 2015's "Whitney and Bobbi Kristina." The author admittedly posed as a porn pedler wanting to sell another celebrity sex tape, in order to dig out inside details from an adult film company's spokesperson.
"When it comes to. . a sex tape, both parties need to sign off," Halperin quoted a source from Vivid Entertainment as saying.
A sex tape featuring Kardashian and Ray J was leaked in 2007 after which the reality TV star filed a lawsuit against the porn giant. The case was later settled out of court for $5 million. A rep for the 34-year-old has claimed that all the assertions made in the book are false.
Meanwhile, Kardashian threw a baby shower at her house for her best friend Chrissy Teigen on March 26, Saturday. The star-studded guest list included supermodel's celeb friends like Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Minka Kelly and Jenna Dewan Tatum.
The baby shower was planned by Corrie Mendes.
