Jason Momoa is Aquaman.

Now that "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is in the books, it's time to look at the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe films in the next few years.

"Suicide Squad" is set to hit movie screens on Aug. 5 and it features Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith as its main cast. In 2017, Gal Gadot will star in her first solo movie in "Wonder Woman" which release date is slated on June 23. Probably headlining the 2017 DC films is "Justice League: Part One" as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, The Flash, Cyborg are confirmed to team-up against an unnamed villain.

While in 2018, "The Flash" and "Aqua Man" will finally star in their solo films and are set to hit the box office on March 16 and July 27, respectively.

Speaking of "Aqua Man," the film will be directed by "Furious 7" director James Wan. Also, "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa will be portraying the role of Arthur Curry, popularly known as the King of Atlantis, Aqua Man.

The director gave an update regarding the film's current status and it looks like he is getting a lift from "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" director, Zach Snyder.

"Well, I think the story that I would like to tell is still at the end of the day my story," Wan told Cinema Blend in an interview at WonderCon. "And that's what's cool with Zack, is that he's actually very respectful of that. He's actually helping me out in some ways with certain things that he's doing with his [films] so that I can have better groundwork with the standalone 'Aquaman' story."

Also, Jason Momoa spoke with Entertainment Weekly's Jeff Labrecque as he gave an overview on what kind of person Curry will be in the movie.

"There's so many things to tell, and there's a whole backstory that's just amazing," Momoa said. "He's been cast aside [in the past]. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy."

The film will revolve on Aqua Man's struggle to maintain peace between land dwellers, who keeps on polluting the ocean where his kingdom resides, and his fellow Atlanteans, who is planning a revolt against the human race. Here's the first look on Momoa as Aqua Man.
