Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date set August 2016 as Galaxy Note 4 now available for $319.99

Samsung's upcoming second 2016 flagship, the Galaxy Note 6, is recently rumored to unbox as early as July this year, thus skipping the IFA Berlin trade show anew. Now the possibility of an advanced release date for the sixth instalment of the original phablet just got a solid indicator - the Galaxy S7, Note 5 and most Samsung flagships are on sale thanks to Walmart.

Walmart's gadget price rollback move, according to CNN, will shave off $150 of the original Galaxy S7 sticker price. The report added that the deal applies on all Samsung smartphones, meaning the same amount of savings apply when purchasing the 2015 flagships - the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5.

It is understood that the promo covers SIM-free and telco-supported packages of the handsets, indicating that prices will vary depending on the choices of shoppers. Walmart also made clear that store locations will dictate on model availability.

The massive Walmart-Samsung sale will run until the end of June, giving Sammy fans three months to take advantage of the incredible deals up for grabs. Or they can hold out for a bit more as the ongoing promo campaign, like in previous cases, normally points to device makers and sellers clearing out old stocks to make way for the refreshed models.

In Samsung's case it is for the arrival of the Galaxy Note 6, which according to reports by Korean media will touchdown a month earlier than the Galaxy Note 5 in 2015. Last year, the Note 5 rolled out August so if the reports will prove accurate the Note 6 will unpack no later than July.

Given that the Walmart sale is in effect until end of June, then mid or late July should the time that the Galaxy Note 6 will hit store shelves.

The same media reports indicated too that next to a Nexus device, the Galaxy Note 6 could be the first to get a taste of Android N. Google's sequel to Android Marshmallow is slated for introduction via the I/O 2016 with the actual rollout to follow in the coming weeks.

On release date, the Android N-powered Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is believed to rock a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with SD 820 and up to 6GB of RAM as main engines. The upcoming phablet is also expected to mirror the headline feature upgrades of the Galaxy S7 - waterproofing protection and microSD slot that supports up to 200GB of extra memory, among them.
