Latest 'Splatoon' update coming, 2.7.0 patch brings 8 new weapons

Splatoon is a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U, and released worldwide in May 2015.

Nintendo is making sure that fans are more than happy with "Splatoon" by unleashing the newest patch 2.7.0 for the Wii U console. With a release date set on April 12, the game developer announced more information about the upcoming update, which includes new weapons for players to enjoy.

The game's official Tumblr page recently revealed that eight new weapons await "Splatoon" players around the world. Nintendo teases fans by revealing the images and details of the four weapons, dubbing it as "Sheldon's Picks Vol 1."

First up is the Wasabi Splattershot, which features Splat Bombs and Instrike in its arsenal. Meanwhile, game players can easily take down their opponents by using the second weapon named Berry Splattershot Pro, featuring Suction Bombs and Bomb Rush.

The third weapon named Fresh Squiffer is retooled to give a different approach to the players. The weapon lineup comes with Suction Bombs and Kraken, which can help the game players to effortlessly turn the tables on foes.

The fourth new "Splatoon" weapon, which is called Permanent Inkbrush, is a set remixed by Sheldon that includes the high-power sub of Splat Bombs while retaining the considerable portability of earlier models. It is recommended for aggressive Inklings, who have a wild desire to wreak maximum havoc.

However, it should also be noted that these weapons were just half of the eight new weapons coming to the game. Aside from that, the patch 2.7.0 also contains a few fixes for issues during the game battle and additionally, several enhancements to improve the user's experience and enjoyment in the game, Siliconera has learned.

Thus, in preparation for this 2.7.0 update, it has been reported that the "Splatoon" server will be under maintenance from 4:50 PM up to 6:00 PM-PT on the same day. During the said maintenance, "Splatoon's" online services will also be unavailable.

"Splatoon" is said to be a third-person shooter video game that focuses on characters known as Inklings - creatures that can transform between humanoid and quid forms. The game has been released worldwide on May 2015 in Wii U console.
