Idina Menzel wowed the audience with her vocals when she sang the National Anthem at the 2015 Super Bowl. The "Let it Go" singer has also been casted at Ellen DeGeneres' new comedy show.

Menzel delivered a powerful performance of the national anthem at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Feb. 1.

Aside from her powerful vocals, the former "Glee" cast member also caught the attention of many as she looked sleek and stylish in a black jumpsuit by Angel Sanchez. She performed the anthem with the traditional shots of soldiers as the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flying overhead.

This is not the first time Menzel sang the anthem as she already performed the same during the 2014 MLB All-Star Game. The singer was recently criticized for her "Let It Go" performance on New Year's Eve, which she managed to explain.

Meanwhile, Variety has confirmed that Menzel is set to star in Ellen DeGeneres' new single-camera comedy in development entitled "Happy Time."  Menzel is going to be the lead star on this series. The story would revolve around a woman (Menzel) who finally decided to let the world know that she's not happy all the time.

According to Deadline, however, the show was pitched for the 2016-2017 TV season so it would be for a while yet before fans of Idina Menzel see her act and be funny in this comedy show. The script of the show would be penned by Randi Barnes.
