"Game of Thrones" Season 6 had a world premiere on April 10, Sunday, at Los Angeles' Chinese Theatre. Despite the unprecedented excitement, the question about Jon Snow's fate continued to haunt most of the cast members who walked the red carpet.
Kit Harington, the actor who has played the character since season 1, was curiously absent from the event that is deemed as the only advance screening before the show hits HBO on April 24. Snow appeared to be killed off in the last season finale episode, but fans were sent into a frenzy when the first official poster released by the network carried the beloved warrior's bloody face.
"It's so sad. He's gone, gone ... Such a shame. Such a nice young man," Iwan Rheon told Reuters at the event on being quizzed about Snow.
Liam Cunningham, Emilia Clarke and Coster-Waldau voiced the same statement when they insisted that Snow is actually dead. As a matter of fact, "Game of Thrones" cast members reportedly have been asked the question about Snow's fate ever since he was shown brutally stabbed in the closing moments of the season five finale.
Wildling Tormund Giantsbane's portrayer Kristofer Hivju even mentioned that Harington is great at playing corpse. A sneak peek released by Cunningham also showed the seemingly lifeless body of Snow being protected by Ser Davos.
However, despite the persistent statements by the cast members, the viewers of the fan are still not ready to believe that Snow is no more in the show. A fan theory also states that there is a purpose that Ser Davos is guarding his corpse since he will be reincarnated in some form with the help of Melisandre.
The title of episode 1, "The Red Woman," further fuels the speculation that Melisandre has a vital role to play in the first couple of episodes of the hit drama series. The sorceress is known for her reincarnation power and is most likely to being back Snow to life.
Ian McShane, who is set to appear in the upcoming season, also hinted on Snow's comeback when he revealed with Vulture that his character will bring back a much-loved character everybody thinks is dead. Watch the new trailer of the series below:
