Josh Gordon is in hot water again after several news outlets reported that he failed another drug test last month. The Cleveland Browns wide receiver tested positive for marijuana and dilute in an NFL-administered drug test.
Gordon recently appealed his year-long suspension last February, as first reported by FOX Sports on Monday. The 24-year-old WR missed all of the 2015-16 NFL season after getting suspended without pay by the league for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
The recent report about a failed drug test is bad news for Gordon and the Browns organization. However, it should be noted that the marijuana level was below the required 35 nanograms per milliliter but the diluted level caused the positive test.
Gordon's agent Drew Rosenhaus, the NFL and the NFL Players Association all declined to give comments about the drug test results. On the other hand, the player doesn't seem to be affected by the reports as he commented on the situation via Twitter on Tuesday morning.
Nonetheless, the Browns are preparing for the worst just in case the NFL will not reinstate Gordon this season. According to a report by cleveland.com, new Browns head coach Hue Jackson is not including the 2013 NFL receiving yards leader in his game plan for the upcoming season.
"I always learned something a long time ago - you never worry about something you never had. I've never had any contact with him, so I'm going to plan on what's in our building now and go from there," Jackson said.
Cleveland Browns Executive Vice President Sashi Brown added that the organization will welcome Josh Gordon back if he will be reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
"I know he's intriguing but really for us, we're focused on the guys that are on our roster and if Josh comes back, great, and if he doesn't, we're ready," Brown said.
In other bad news for the Browns, ESPN reported on Tuesday that Gordon is currently roommates with former Cleveland quarterback Johnny Manziel. The report noted that the two are living together in an apartment off Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.
